Important Commands of Allah
Islam is based on clear guidance from Allah through the Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Below are the most important divine commands, divided into categories, with authentic references and translations.
1. Belief (Aqeedah) عقیدہ اور ایمان
Believe in One Allah (Tawheed)
Allah commands us to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him.
وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِهِۦ شَيْـًۭٔاQur’an: Surah An-Nisa 4:36
Do Not Commit Shirk
Associating partners with Allah is the greatest sin and is strictly forbidden.
إِنَّ ٱلشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌۭQur’an: Surah Luqman 31:13
Believe in the Finality of Prophethood
Muhammad ﷺ is the last Messenger of Allah, and no prophet will come after him.

2. Obligatory Acts (Farz) فرائض اسلام
Establish Prayer (Salah)
Prayer is the foundation of a believer’s connection with Allah.
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَQur’an: Surah Al-Baqarah 2:43
Pay Zakah
Zakah purifies wealth and helps the needy.

Fast in Ramadan
Fasting teaches self-control (Taqwa) and obedience to Allah.

Perform Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Pilgrimage to the House of Allah is a duty for mankind, for those who can afford the journey.

3. Moral Conduct (Akhlaq) حسن اخلاق
Speak the Truth
Truthfulness leads to righteousness and Paradise.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَقُولُوا۟ قَوْلًۭا سَدِيدًۭاQur’an: Surah Al-Ahzab 33:70
Be Kind to Parents
Allah has commanded kindness and respect toward parents, especially in their old age.

Practice Patience (Sabr)
Seek help through patience and prayer; indeed, Allah is with the patient.

4. Major Sins (Strictly Forbidden) گناہ کبیرہ (حرام)
Do Not Commit Zina
Allah forbids even approaching immoral acts (Adultery & Fornication).
وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلزِّنَىٰٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَـٰحِشَةًۭQur’an: Surah Al-Isra 17:32
No Alcohol or Intoxicants
Intoxicants destroy intellect and morality; they are tools of Satan.

Do Not Take Interest (Riba)
Riba is declared war against Allah and His Messenger.

5. Social Justice & Rights معاشرتی انصاف اور حقوق
Do Not Oppress Others
Allah commands justice and forbids oppression (Zulm).

Fulfill Trusts & Promises
Breaking trust is a sign of hypocrisy. Return trusts to their owners.

6. Commands from Hadith (Sunnah) احادیث نبوی ﷺ
Seek Knowledge
Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.

Avoid Harmful Actions
"There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm."

Show Mercy
Those who show mercy will receive mercy from Allah.

Shirk (Polytheism)
Allah does not forgive association with Him if one dies upon it without repentance.

Guard Modesty

Help the Poor
Charity extinguishes sins like water extinguishes fire.

10. Spiritual Protection روحانی تحفظ
Repent Frequently (Tawbah)
Allah loves those who repent sincerely.
